All I really need is a clean bathroom and a comfy bed so no snooty 5 star suggestions please :) Of course I would want something reasonably priced. What part of town should I look for a room to get the maximal 'Atlanta flair' (so to speak). *I am actually going to visit Atlanta just to scope it out and see what kind of feel/vibe I get.
*I expect Atlanta being as large a city as it is that attitudes towards gays would be reasonably enlightened but is that a correct assumption? Is there a 'gay ghetto'? I know I am stereotyping here but Georgia is after all a very conservative state. *Is the public transit system decent and widely used or is it only used by those who have no alternatives? Should I expect a degree of racism? It has not been an issue at all here in Portland. *Is crime really bad? Is it certain neighborhoods or all over? Of course I will line up a job before moving but I do not anticipate that to be a problem. I want to move to a less cloudy/rainy part of the country and Atlanta is a consideration. I'm a 36 year old guy who has lived in Portland for the past six odd years.
